Welcome to the World, Mr. Jay William Wallace!

This portrait session was extra special because it was for a special mommy-one that I have been friends with for over 25 years! I can still remember sharing crayons and blowing bubbles in Kindergarten with Jackie and here we are now with our own babies. (little tear) Most memories I have of school have her in there. I hope that our kiddos find their own partner in crime like Jackie and I had in each other.

I was so excited when she told me last summer that she was expecting. I knew her and Dave would make amazing parents. Little Jay has been born into an extended family on BOTH sides that I have come to know. He will be so loved... :)

I arrived at Dave and Jackie's house and started with some lifestyle pictures of them and Jay in their natural setting. His nursery is gorgeous! The soft gray theme and the special details that Jackie and her family put into creating this space made it so cozy.

Jay seems to content in Daddy's arms. Dave loved to talk to Jay and you could see the connection between the two. Just a little newborn boy and his daddy looking into each other's eyes...

Dave and Jackie seem like they've eased their way into being new parents. They are already working like a team and it seems like it's just something they've always done.

After a few diaper changes, cuddle and feeding sessions, Jay finally settled into a good sleep and we were able to do some more traditional posed shots. He was so smushy and cute! And, look at that hair! My god, that hair is adorable.

Thanks again, Jackie and Dave, for letting me photograph those first precious moments with your little one. <3
