Senior Portrait Sessions 2015

Senior portrait season is almost upon us! Senior portraits are such an important milestone session. These images tell two stories: they showcase  the ending of one story and the beginning of another. This reminds me of one of my favorite lyrics: "every new beginning comes from some other beginning end..." I think of my own two children. They are in their "beginning." In a few years, they will also have another beginning which will signal the end of this moment in their life. We guide, we nurture, we grow then we let go of them.  

I love this melding of so many different emotions. I think that's why I love doing senior portraits so much :) What an amazing time in these young adults' lives. 

I want to create tailored, customized portrait sessions for each of my seniors. Your boutique-style experience starts with a pre-session consultation. During this interview, we will discuss your personal style and your vision. I will make suggestions for wardrobe and hair. For senior girls, I always recommend getting your hair and make-up done by a professional before the session. We will discuss possible locations and props you might wish to bring.

The most important thing, in my opinion, is to have these portraits represent each unique individual I photograph. I don't want to create a cookie-cutter portrait session. We want to create photos that will wow your family and friends. And, I want to create portraits that you can show your future family. Timeless, classic and uniquely you.

Each time I look back on the 2015 seniors I photographed, I see each of their unique personalities. I see how each of them started out nervous but were so comfortable by the end of the session. I love seeing the smiles and the confidence. I also love seeing the difference in each of their sessions. Each different place, the different poses, the different lighting... that's what we want! A unique session!
